OK. So you have some idea of what Dianetic Auditing is about. That isn't the only type of Auditing available. Early on Hubbard noticed that an auditor could get at least as good results by putting attention on the ability of the preclear. One definition of auditing is the action of asking a preclear a question (which he/she can understand and answer), getting an answer to that question and acknowledging him or her for that answer. Auditing gets rid of unwanted barriers that inhibit or blunt a person's natural abilities as well as gradiently increasing the abilities a person has so that he or she becomes more able and survival, happiness and intelligence increase enormously.

Purification Procedure	The Purification Procedure enables a person to advance spiritually through auditing. The program detoxifies the body through a combination of exercise, vitamins, nutrition and sauna. It has been found that residues of drugs and other pollutants can remain in the body with the effect of inhibiting or even preventing further gain from Scientology Auditing. ARC Straightwire	This level of Scientology Auditing deliver freedom from deterioration, the person has hope and knows he or she will not get any worse. ARC = Affinity, Reality and Communication which together create Understanding. "Straightwire" refers to the notion of putting the preclear into better communication with his mind and the world.
Grade 0 Communications Release	This level delivers the ability to communicate freely with anyone on any subject; free from, or no longer bothered by communication difficulties; no longer withdrawn. The Scientology Auditing procedures of Grade 0 address a person’s ability to communicate and free him or her, in his own estimation, from any blocks on this subject.
Grade I Problems Release	This level of Scientology Auditing delivers the ability to recognise the source of problems and vanish them. A person who has completed this level is no longer worried about the problems he or she may have been to others in the past and can recognise the source of such difficulties.
Grade II Relief Release	Delivers relief from the hostilities and sufferings of life and an ability to be at cause without the fear of hurting others while at the same time giving a willingness for others to be at cause and freedom from things others have done to one. The secret of this level of Scientology Auditing is to bring a person to view past misdeeds, harmful acts against one’s fellows and other transgressions. When a person unthinkingly transgresses against the morals, codes, ethics and laws to which he or she has agreed or, with "good cause" knowingly offends against these, the misery begins. Having transgressed, the person now feels he must hold back this deed from others, and he or she begins to withdraw from the person or group that has been harmed.
Grade III Freedom Release	This level of Scientology Auditing gives freedom from the upsets of the past and an ability to face the future; ability to experience sudden change without becoming upset. On Grade III one finds the specific incidents where upsetting changes have occurred in life and addresses these so that they no longer adversely affect one in present time. Some of the procedures also enhance the ability of the individual to create positive change in himself or his environment.
Grade IV Ability Release	Moving out of fixed conditions and being able to do other things; ability to face life without the need to justify own actions or defend self from others; loss of the "make-guilty" mechanism, self invalidation and demand for sympathy. Tolerance of the fixed ideas, justifications of others. The procedures of this level of Scientology Auditing enable the preclear to view himself in relation to life and free him or herself from patterns of thought or action which, while seeming to promote one's survival, in reality do everything but. When one moves out of fixed conditions, he or she can experience a huge resurgence in the ability to choose, partake in and enjoy new activities.
